Morning
Our day will kick off with refreshments and a Keynote by Tom Bull: A New Day and a New Way. Change brings opportunities, and we’ve been through a lot of changes, with more to come. Get inspired to navigate new perspectives, principles, and practices. Followed by roundtable discussions and an open forum. The What’s Working? activity will give you a taste of different resources and tools available for Essex County schools. You will learn from your peers about how schools are implementing SEL, Trauma Responsive Schools, MindUP, Staff Resiliency, and more.  A Service Provider Spotlight activity will round out the morning.
Afternoon
Following a healthy lunch, Breakout Sessions will focus on topics (chosen based on counselors’ input), including Staff Resiliency, Trauma Responsive Schools, MindUP, and Supporting LGBTQ+ Students. Meet and Greet Activity will introduce you to local providers and where, when, and how to make referrals. Resource providers will share information at tables, as well.
  • An Optional Social Hour will start at 3:30 pm. An opportunity for more unstructured time to hang out with new friends and old buddies.
  • Breaks to chill out and network will be planned throughout the day.
