Please contact your healthcare provider to determine if COVID testing is right for you based on your individual circumstances, including testing due to upcoming travel. Pharmacies may also offer COVID testing by appointment.

Report Your At-Home/Over-the-Counter Test

Please report positive results from COVID-19 self-tests (also known as at-home or over the counter COVID-19 tests).

Use the form below to tell Essex County Health Department about a positive COVID-19 self-test result. 

The self-test must be authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

A list of authorized self-tests can be found by searching the term ‘OTC” on the FDA website.

DO NOT report negative results. 

DO NOT report results of a test done at or through a doctor’s office, clinic, hospital, laboratory, pharmacy, school, or any testing site or program operated by Essex County Health Department.
