Any person denied access to any records may appeal within thirty (30) days of the denial directly to the FOIL Appeals Officer, who shall, within ten (10) business days of the receipt of the appeal, fully explain in writing to the person requesting the record the reasons for denial, or provide access to the records sought.
Public Inspection and Copying of Records:
Location: Records may be inspected and copied at the Essex County Attorney’s Office, located at 7551 Court Street, Elizabethtown, NY 12932.
Hours: Records are available for public inspection every Monday through Friday, except legal holidays, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM. Review of records by appointment only.
Fees: Photocopies of standard letter-size documents are available at a cost of $0.25 per page.
